Meet Dr. Elizabeth Fulgaro
Dr. Elizabeth Fulgaro is a spiritual director, theologian, award-winning author, and composer of over 250 contemplative song prayers.
She is the founder and CEO of Eagles Nest Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to soul care, spiritual formation, and emotional wellness through daily worship practices.
With a Doctor of Ministry and Master of Practical Theology from The King’s University, Dr. Fulgaro's research explored how listening daily to song prayers can strengthen resilience and well-being—especially among military and veteran communities.
Her work brings academic rigor, personal healing, and spiritual depth together in powerful, practical ways.
From Elizabeth:
When I started writing song prayers in 2004 and having them professionally produced in 2006, it was in response to a vision from God of troops marching in a desert. His promise was that if I would get these songs "over there," He would be their covering. He would hem them in before and behind and shine His light in the dark places so the enemy was found.
Serving military, veteran, and fallen warrior communities remains a special emphasis of my work, and my focus is still creating soul care resources. My understanding of what the soul needs has expanded.
Your soul is that inner core of you, which makes you uniquely you. For now your soul is embodied and infuses your entire being. By design, your being has physiological, psychological, neurological, spiritual, and social needs, and all these needs taken together make up your well-being. That is why my work now sits within the field of human flourishing, which studies what it takes for the whole person to thrive.
I still want your wounded heart to feel better. There are practical implications as well. All of us are in some way walking wounded, and we cause very real damage to one another. If we are to be better instruments of God's love, we need to understand which interactions are healthy and which are abusive, and where injustice is hiding. Research also shows your financial well-being plays an impactful role in your emotional well-being, and the reverse is true too.
This is where pieces of my background come together like quilt squares, creating a covering under which you can find resources for each of these areas. That includes song prayers and guided journals, my doctoral research with women veterans, books and reflections, and 45 years of experience and multiple certifications in personal finance.
It's all part of soul care, with the overriding objective of learning to love the way Jesus demonstrated. From there you can go forth and help create communities where there is thriving for all, with not one missing.
I remain committed to letting God continue to grow and transform me, so there will be more resources to come. Let's heal and grow together!
You are in my heart and prayers,
~ Dr. Elizabeth
